Technique- bubbly distress

Hello friends

Whoohoo its the first post of 2013!!
Happy new year .........hope its full of everything you wished for!
I cannot believe the holidays are nearly over
.....its back to the pay the bills job next week .....BoooHoo!

I thought I would  start the new year by sharing this cool technique
It involves bubbles and ink.....but not just any bubbles.................... they have to be foamy fluffy bubbles!
I discovered by complete accident while washing down a bottle of Dylusions in the sink.....that's what sinks are for right??!

I know most of you would of tried as kids to blow paint bubble pictures with a straw ......this technique involves no straw!
(because its ink, it contains no pigment so the bubbles wont hold the ink like paint does.)
You will see how too  in the videos

First here's some samples of the effects you can get using Distress and Dylusions inks

So here's the first video using the technique with the Dyans Dylusions  inks....enjoy!
(don't forget to come back to see the cool effect with Distress ink!)

I love grunge and you can create this look using the same technique but this time using Tim Holtz distress ink!
I JUST LOVE IT!!
Here's how too with Distress ink!

just love experimenting with inks.........  SO MUCH FUN!!
(I'm still learning with the videos so if I repeat myself, just bare with me I waffle lol!)
Here's a close up of some of the effects......

**Tip**
You don't have to use plain card,
you can ink up your card with a block of colour first,
on this tag I inked up the card in orange then
then spritzed a contrasting colour onto the bubbles( I used bubblegum pink)
dip the card onto the pink foamy bubbles, then dry completely
WARNING...
(Don't over dip the card as the detergent reacts,
too much dipping will eventually make the card crinkle)

I hope you found the technique useful
As always feel free to leave a comment .....would love to know what you think??

Have a great day and thanks for popping by

  18. Wow Kaz, what fabulous bubble tutorials, just love the effect.
I did the bubble blowing you talked about with the Playgroup children,, but this is a much more grown up and civilised way to do it.
My lovely hubby has bought me a Gelli plate from AFTH, any ideas how to get started with it?

  29. Love this idea - a new way for me to play with my spray inks. I adore the crow one (pink and orange). I played with the bubble one years ago but I like this look so much better - not the big open bursts on the card, more solid colour. Definitely going to try this one out.
